About the pattern
Kestrel is a classic two-button sport coat made with traditional tailoring: a canvassed front with pad-stitched, taped lapels, a two-piece upper collar over a felt under collar, and two-piece sleeves with buttoned vents. It has patch hip pockets, a welt chest pocket, a jetted inside pocket and a single back vent, and it is fully lined. It is drafted for medium to heavy wools with some texture, such as tweed or flannel.
The pattern covers men's EU 44 to 58 in a classic, lightly shaped fit worn over a shirt or a fine knit. It suits sewers who are comfortable with hand stitching and want to make a properly tailored jacket.
